Effects of oil pocket shape and density on friction in reciprocating sliding

چکیده

The purpose of this work is to study the effect oil pocket shape and density on friction in reciprocating sliding. experiments were conducted motion under starved lubrication conditions. Tribological tests performed using an Optimol SRV5 tribotester. frictional pair consisted two discs 42CrMo4 steel. One disc was laser textured. pockets had circular sandglass shapes. Disc samples various texture shapes characterized by same pit-area ratios. operating parameters for all pairs. In most cases, surface texturing led reductions force value scatter. For both dimple shapes, best tribological properties achieved 9%. When with dimples tested, highest resistance received ratio On contrary, worst performance sandglass-shaped obtained largest 22%.
